Dagoba Organic Chocolate Bar Recall

Dagoba Organic Chocolate Recalls thousands of chocolate bars around the country due to dangerously high lead levels found in the Cacao. Recalled chocolate bars include:

Dagoba Organic Los Rios 68% - Ecuador Arriba, Size: 2 oz bar
Dagoba Organic Prima Materia 100% - Ecuador Arriba, Size: 2 lb brick

Dagoba Organic "Eclipse Broken Bars" Forest Grown Organic Extra Dark Chocolate, Size: 1.5 lb bulk bags

High lead levels can cause adverse side effects for adults and children but children are more susceptible to lead poisoning. Lead poisoning in children can cause permanent damage to the central nervous system causing learning disorders, developmental defects, anemia, neurologic problems, constipation, muscular weakness, and chronic nephritis.

Consumers with affected chocolate bars can return products to the store they were purchased for a full refund. Dagoba have been sold at natural food stores such as Wild Oats, Whole Foods, Co-ops, and specialty stores. Dagoba chocolate bars are also sold via and though the Dagoba website.
