Class action certification is being sought for a lawsuit filed against Garfield Alloys Co. of Garfield Heights, Ohio on behalf of residents who were evacuated, suffered property damage and who breathed smoke due to the fire on December 29-30. The suit claims that the metal recycling business was negligent and did not follow safe practices, failed to train its employees properly and had insufficient firefighting plans.
