Gaylord Gas

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the gas company for allegedly overcharging customer for propane and violating the Michigan Consumer Protection Act. The lawsuit was filed against Gaylord Gas and its parent company, Inergy Propane of Kansas City, MO after consumers were charged more than $1 per gallon above the state average for propane gas in the winter of 2007.

The class action claims Gaylord Gas violated consumer protection laws by charging well above market prices for propane and by failing to notify customers until they got a bill. The company allegedly traps customers into facing either inflated prices or excessive fees to change providers in what is described as an "illegal scheme and deceptive practices."
