Conditional certification as a class action has been granted to a lawsuit filed against GEICO on behalf of call center employees who are seeking compensation for unpaid overtime. Under the ruling, eligible class members include all current and former hourly paid, telephone-dedicated employees who worked in GEICO's call centers as Sales Associates, Customer Service Representatives, Direct Handlers, Billing Associates, or PBX employees who worked at GEICO between March 25, 2000 and the present. The class could include approximately 21,000 members, and the deadline for these potential members to join the suit is August 21, 2003.
