A class action lawsuit seeking $225 million has been filed against the Ontario government on behalf of approximately 1,200 families with autistic children. The suit is challenging the province's Intensive Behavioural Intervention program which helps children acquire essential life skills only until they are six years old. The suit claims that the way the program is currently operated is a violation of the children's guarantees of equal treatment under the Charter of Rights.
