The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Black & Decker has recalled 160,000 Black & Decker and Craftsman Brand Cordless Electric Lawnmowers. There have been more than 20 reports of electrical components overheating; such overheating can pose a fire hazard. All consumers should stop using the lawnmowers immediately.

I plugged in the mower to charge the battery as instructed by the factory repair center that completed the recall. Within 2 hours the garage and three cars were destroyed and the house and furnishings ruined. Date of fire was 3/24/11.
