NeutraGard Fluoride Rinse Recall



NeutraGard mouth rinse and fluoride anticavity treatment recalled due to possible bacterial contamination. Pascal Company, Inc. announced a 55,000 bottle worldwide recall of NeutraGard 0.05% Neutral Sodium Fluoride Anticavity Treatment Rinse and NeutraGard Plus 0.2% Neutral Sodium Fluoride Anticavity Treatment Rinse. These fluoride products come in Mint and Tropical Blast flavors and were distributed since 2001.

The mouth rinses may contain deadly bacteria Burkholderia cepacia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In patients with pre-existing health problems or a weakened immune system, these bacterias have been known to cause urinary tract infections, respiratory system infections, dermatitis, soft tissue infections, bacteremia, bone and joint infections, gastrointestinal infections and a variety of systemic infections that can lead to death.

Consumers with these products are advised to discontinue use and return it to the place of purchase for proper disposal.
