Ontario Provincial Police

Class action status will be sought in a $3.25 million dollar lawsuit filed against the Ontario Provincial Police department on behalf of former workers of Aylmer Meat Packers. The suit alleges that police and government officials trampled the plaintiff's rights during a raid and shut down the abattoir without a hearing. The suit further claims that the police illegally arrested and detained the workers for five hours during an August 21, 2003 raid on the company.
