Ag-Mart Produce Inc.

A lawsuit has been filed against the vegetable grower for allegedly failing to pay farm workers back wages. The lawsuit is seeking class action status on behalf of more than 3000 farm workers from Mexico and Central America who picked tomatoes for Ag-Mart Produce. According to the complaint, the company hired farm workers at piecework rates between June 2005 and July 2006 to pick tomatoes, but if the piecework does not meet minimum wage, the employer must make up the difference.
