Despite a Red Sox team policy discouraging the resale of tickets and state laws aimed at preventing markups, several individuals and companies profit from purchasing tickets and reselling them at inflated prices. Some tickets are marked up by over $300 and there is a message with the tickets urging people not to say where the tickets had come from, since they were part of a season ticket package sold to the company by another fan.
