A securities fraud class action was filed in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina concerning The Thaxton Group, Inc. and its subordinated note program. The class was filed on behalf of all holders of subordinated notes of The Thaxton Group, Inc. as of October 17, 2003 and all assignees of any rights or claims of such persons to the extent of the assignment.
