Two power control center operators have filed a lawsuit and are seeking class action status on behalf of employees alleging unpaid overtime. People who have worked for the district since January 11, 2003 and have been classified as exempt from overtime may be included in the case. Operators work under a contract that was agreed upon by the public employee division of Operating Engineers Local 3 Union, but the contract allegedly violates the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
