Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Wal-Mart Stores has recalled 165,000 Home Trends wood footstools due to fall hazard. Due to improper construction, the stool can break and collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers. Wal-Mart has received nine reports of the footstools breaking. There have been seven reports of injuries, including a broken toe, neck and shoulder soreness, cuts, bruises, swelling, a slight concussion, and whiplash. The footstools were manufactured in Malaysia and sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores nationwide. Consumers should immediately stop using the product.
