A class action lawsuit has been filed against Wal-Mart stores in the State of Washington on behalf of 40,000 current and former employees. The suit alleges that the company has "engaged in a systematic scheme of wage abuse against its hourly paid employees in the State of Washington." The suit claims that the company required employees perform off-the-clock work for which they were never paid, missed meal and rest breaks and altered time records.
