O'Hare International Airport

In 1997, a group of 87 women filed a lawsuit against the airport alleging illegal pat-downs and strip searches. A U.S. District Judge denied the case class action status. All of the women involved in the suit are African American women. Customs agents pulled the women out of customs lines without cause and forced them to submit to humiliating searches. The women have accepted $1.9 million in compensation. (Feb-05-06) [CHICAGO TRIBUNE]
