Over 17,000 female employees filed a class action lawsuit against their employer alleging gender discrimination in hiring, pay, and promotion practices. Boeing has agreed to pay a $72.5 million settlement averaging $3,000 per female employee. The payout is the maximum allowed under a settlement agreement that won preliminary approval from a federal judge last year. (Nov-13-05)
