A settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of inmates. The suit was filed in 2002 and alleged unconstitutional treatment of the inmates. According to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger "The lawsuit said that California should have done a better job with its young offenders, and it was right.... We are on the right track now." (Nov-17-04)

I came into this system at the end of 1988..from riverside county california ..my unbelievable experiences started in juvenile hall over flow security unit inmates being housed in cells with no running water or toilets ..witch resulted in me kicking out small plexiglass windows to urinate ..having to beat the door down to get a unlock this resulted in more attempted escapes for witch I was sentenced to 2063 days in confinement to the California youth Authority ...SRCC Norwalk ..layed over in Fred c nelles ..where I experienced my first riot ..Ventura schools was my destination to complete a prep program ..I went to cya from my escapes from juvenile placement homes and juvenile hall ..I quickly turned 6 months into 2 years and I only had a referee 1 board member / commissioner to convince to get out ..I was transfered from Ventura schools ton YTS Chino CA..after a racial motivated riot accured at ventura ..cause the black suoerintendant died and all had to attend for services to be held at facility ..well whites and the homies said nope and black didnt like it boom ...yts was the end of 1989 and upon arriving at RnR..encountered my first violation by 3 inmates ..because once cleared for housing ..u then start the rotundra to get clothing and bedding and basic hygiene items their was no security escourts at all at yts ..i had 2 more incidents take place before i caught my first assult with GBI...because now im getting revenge ..on these perpitraiters who violated me all bad ive been to several CDC institution after my cya experiences PTSD is a fucking umderstatement more like forever rearranged by the sexual assults

was in YTS and PRESTON from the late70's and 80's I was beaten in YTS AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED IN PRESTON MY LIFE WAS NEVER THE SAME AFTER THAT EVEN UNTIL NOW

I'm also waiting to see if any lawsuits are going on I also was at cya from 1996 to 2000 #77466 i really experienced allot of abuse especially at SRCC , I was 14 at the time and they were putting 3 people to a cell and they would put 13 14 year Olds with 16 and 17 year Olds it was crazy allot of sexual assaults with battery packs you didn't stand a chance.

I was in Fred C Nelles , and A few others I suffered from PTSD . It took me awhile to get back on track. I saw and was mased stomp on the back of my head thrown in a cell with out being rinsed off ever till the next day . I would like to be I contact as well

Is this lawsuit still open? I was a "ward" in CYA from 1995 to 2000 (#73235). I saw & experienced abuse at Nelles and N.A. Chaderjian. Still have nightmares from these years.

I was committed to the California youth authority for the amount Six years my CYA Number was 74872 I was at Paso Robles youth Authority along with other institutions there was a lot of abuse physical and verbal among staff I would like to be involved in the lawsuit as well

I was incarcerated in the cya intitution around and i have always tough of the facility that i was in wich was fred c. Nelles to have done a very poor job especially in my parole decision wich led to a deportation main reason i even took the bargain or pleaded guilty was because i had heard they had a good drug program parole was denied mainly i feel theres was a ins hold deportation was only days before my 18 birthday i ended up getting deported and really couldnt follow up with any of my drug rehab treatment mainly because i was in another country i never tought trying to get help for my substance abuse could mess up my life so much wich lead to a whole new listof problems in my life. I honestly feel like i really need help allove again parole dat was2.14.2004 please the case that got me my chargr was assault to a tranportation officer 2002_2004
