A class action lawsuit was filed against the search engine company for allegedly abusing pay per click advertising systems and overcharging advertisers by billing them for false customer leads. Claims were filed against Google for click fraud or the abuse of search advertising systems for the purpose of increasing advertiser fees. This can occur when a person or robot repeatedly clicks on a link to generate a commission payment with each click. Google has agreed to pay up to $90 million to settle its part of the industry wide lawsuit. (Mar-08-06)
