Equilon Enterprises and Premcor Refining

Trenton, NJ: (Feb-28-07) A class action lawsuit was filed by Mark Goldenberg against Equilon Enterprises and Premcor Refining for allegedly polluting the town of Hartford with hazardous waste from their businesses. The suit, getting class action status in 2005 by Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack, lost on account of lack of scientific evidence to substantiate claims. Equilon and Premcor agreed to contribute $3.5 million for property damage, $3.5 million for displacement, loss of use and loss of enjoyment, and $1 million for medical expenses incurred by the plaintiffs'.
