Judge Approves $4.75M Settlement in Vonage Class Action

This is a settlement for the Vonage lawsuit.

- by

New York, NY: Final approval of a proposed $4.75 million settlement of a class action against Vonage has been approved by US District Court of New Jersey.

The class action challenged the company's sales and marketing policies, specifically Vonage' promotional "one month free"and "money back guarantee"offers and application of certain charges and subscription fees, despite requests for cancellation, which allegedly violated the law.

The settlement could provide plaintiffs with a dollar-for-dollar recovery. Eligible class members include residents of the United States who subscribed to Vonage services on or before January 3, with certain exclusions, and who were unable to receive a full month of free service, did not receive a full money back guarantee under certain circumstances, were charged disconnection fees after cancellation, or paid for monthly service after requesting cancellation.
