A $10 million verdict has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of the family of Mamie Crook who was a patient of the Rehabilitation Center from June 15, 1999, to Sept. 26, 2000. The suit alleged that the defendants were negligent in the woman's care, causing doctors to have to amputate her left leg at the knee after she developed sores due to inadequate care by the nursing home staff.
