A settlement has been approved in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 256 people who became ill after being denied medical attention while in police lockup care between Feb. 11, 1998, and March 31, 2001. Under the terms of settlement $206,000 will be distributed among the plaintiffs, and the officers and lockup staff will receive training to learn how to deal with diabetics.
