The California Highway Patrol.

A verdict has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed by Jeff Paige, a black former lieutenant, in 1994. The suit alleged that the patrol had discriminated against blacks and other minorities for hiring and promotions. The federal jury in this case ruled that the patrol had not discriminated against the plaintiffs, however they did find that the patrol had retaliated against Paige by denying him job assignments in response to his complaints of alleged discrimination.
