Lafayette residents tried to file a class action lawsuit alleging the municipal utility had been overcharging customers for years by overcharging the fuel rate portion of customer bills. A Judicial District Judge dismissed the case as plaintiffs should have first notified the Lafayette Public Utilities Authority about possible billing discrepancies. (Nov-29-05)
