Verizon Wireless

Verizon cell phone customers filed a class action lawsuit against Verizon Wireless in a Los Angeles Superior Court stating that the wireless provider did not disclose accurate details of the Bluetooth functions on their Motorola V710 handsets. The customers won the case and the tentative settlement includes a monetary credit, the ability to return the phone or cancel cell service with no termination fees. Qualified customers are those who purchased and activated the Motorola V710 on or before January 31, 2005. (Sep-27-05) [RCR WIRELESS NEWS]

Manager said the only way to insure continuation of my service and keep my existing equipment functional was to sign up for a two year contract instead of my month to month plan that I had had for a long time. He took my money, turned off my phone and was unable to re-activate it as he had promised. Verizon has refused to correct the damages for over 1 year.

I contacted Verizon wireless to cancel my out of contract phone which has a family share plan attached. I was informed by the attendant that I had two secondary phones which were still under contract (we had replaced broken equipment so these phones were given new 2 year contracts). I was told that I would either have to pay early termination fees on the two secondary lines or change one of the secondary lines to the primary line and be forced to sign a new two year contract.

My children do not understand the situation. The phones were just for their chaperone capability. Then we find out the phones don't even do that. Financial services told me I would have to negotiate. I asked for Negotiations and was told "We do not negotiate." Now they have disabled all of our phones though we continue to receive billing.
