Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Class Action Denied

In 2001, a lawsuit was filed seeking class action status against the retail chain store. The case was filed on behalf of 86,000 current and former Wal-Mart employees in the state of Wisconsin who claimed they worked through meal and rest breaks. A state appeals court has denied class action status to the lawsuit brought by employees who claimed they were forced to work through breaks. Bill Dixon, the lawyer for the employees, is considering an appeal to the state Supreme Court. (Feb-22-06) [TWIN CITIES]
