Chicago - A class action lawsuit was filed against the Illinois county on behalf of former inmates alleging illegal strip searches. Jailers allegedly violated the rights of thousands of inmates arrested for minor offenses by strip searching them and looking for contraband. There were no allegations of abuse and the searches took place behind closed doors and were performed by a jailer of the same gender as the inmate. Will County has agreed to pay inmates a $2.15 million out-of-court class action settlement. (Sep-23-06)

I was houses in the will county jail an every time I was in booking I was illegally stripped searched an also every time I go to court an come back they would illegally strip search me an I never understood why I was in their custody an never had contact with anyone outside of the Jail please can you contact me. I was arrested in Tinley Park, Will County. The Arresting Officer escorted me to the Hospital to retrieve blood/ urine samples. Once in the E/R I asked for the search warrant.Officer stated toid me" what your going to make me get one?" Yes I replied. We went back to his jail after one hour we went back to the hospital the office handed the EMT a piece of paper she stated its not filled in or signed. Officer stated " My fax machine ran out of ink" I laughed to myself but complied to the samples. After released from the, (and I refused to sign the search disclosure form 3x's / searched 7 x"s) Will County Inn. I got a copy of police report, Officer states he gave a search to the hospital, but no such records can be found. The police department, the records from hospital, and Will County court could not find any evidence of the warrant. even thou the sworn statement from arresting office says there is one. I am looking for a civil case please advise

I was locked up in will county jail for 5 and half months and everytime I went to court I had got stripped searched really felt uncomfortable everytime I had to and also they made me sign a paper saying I had to get stripped searched before I got released before court and after court or going to the doctor treat me n all the others like shit

they made me go naked and sqaures. Than shot me with cold water and small towel when I was innocent on the charges I was locked up for. It's traumatic on 2015

I was an inmate at Will County adult detention facility for almost 6 months..and every time I went out to court and came back was forced to strip search against my will..I would like to know about the compensation I am owed for this violation of my rights.

I was at the Will County Jail (Will County Adult Detention Facility). Every time I was taken to Court, on the way back from Court to the facility, we were forced to get naked. By being there for over 12 months I am expecting a check for many hundreds of dollars. Please someone let me know if this is true.
